30A – Final Reflection

It has been one heck of a Ride

Reading through my blog posts from this past semester was probably the best things I’ve done all we as each blog post brought back memories from that specific week. To be honest when I first started this course I was very hesitant that I would learn anything from this class. When I first saw this class I surprised by the blog post format as I thought by posting my venture idea online for the whole class to see would not only be pointless but scary as I was worried my idea would be ridiculed by my classmates. Once ball got rolling and the more I experienced in this class the more I was willing to open up in my blog post as well as appreciate the idea presented in my classmates. From there I learned the true value of the class as it got us to present our ideas to an audience and review others ideas and I’ll admit I kinda began enjoy making a blog post every one and a then because even though I wasn’t talking about week when I read back on my blog post I remember that whole we and how I felt like a dairy post but without the daily routine. I remember the first assignment as it asked what entrepreneurial experience have we had in the past and I felt awkward not having a definitive answer, but once I started reading the other blog post I began to realize most of everyone didn’t have a definitive answer as well. But the assignment that made me truly appreciate the entrepreneurial experience was the Elevator pitches as they started out really awkward but the more comfortable I got to be in front of a camera the more fun they became and it was great watching everyone experience this grow from it as well. One asked what is best thing I’ve learned from the class and what I would pass on is the idea is that when pursuing a goal don’t keep your sights narrow but view the open seas. Look at everything in your path and think to yourself why you want to pursue this goal and the motivation to do your tasks will come. Don’t view your assignments as chores but steps in your path onto the next your next goal. Once you appreciate the steps you'll appreciate the journey.

29A – Venture Concept No. 2

Part 1: the Opportunity

Arc 1: How did this idea come to me

Similarly to everyone my age, I grew up around technology. I spent all of my time growing up either play, interacting, or studying with the help of some form of technology. Where it was to use my PS2 to play video games or my computer to do homework. This constant stream of interaction lead me to fall in love with every piece of technology I touched growing from. Spending most of my time either figure out how it worked or tearing it apart to see what it looked like on the inside. The bountiful wealth of knowledge came with a hefty cost, as I was adversely known as the “tech kid” growing as everyone around me: friends, family, and sometimes coworkers would come up to me with their problems and that is when I realized many people barely know the basics yet technology is a literal essential part of everyone's lives yet when asked what to do when their phone start acting up many people freeze up and go ask for help even if the problem is as simple as restarting the device. The problem I have is not that I don’t want people going to get help when something stops working but I don’t people to be surprised/panicked when something fails, because when people are confused they do silly things which usually ends with them being scammed as they make an unnecessary purchase. I’ve been watching this process happen for years. This is why I wanted the create the site known as ‘Allpoint’ as I know there all millions of site that already do my idea but better. How I see things is that many people are too intimidated by the idea going on many of these sites because they feel that the nomenclature/lingo. I wanted to build a site that made people feel welcomed. Idea is that sites like Reddit have a pre established community with a poor stigma around the community and for many people this seems off putting. That’s why this is a big opportunity because if I can make a site that is as expedient as many mainstream sources yet more welcoming than those currently I feel I could make a site that does not only a lot of good but help introduce many into the age of technology that seems to allude so many people.

Part 2: Innovation

Arc 2: How will it all come to together

Throughout my time here in ENT3003 I have made my venture not only more concise but realistic as well as how to develop a road map for how I should make this a reality. The first step is to create the the concept and I how visualized “Allpoint” was it to be a two part forum and new site. There are several sketches all over my blog for those who are interested in getting a visualization but the idea is that the header of the site will be a scrolling live feed of the current popular new stories while the bottom section will be series of topic that will take user to various ‘schools’ of tech such as a section for Apple products which then prompt the user to search for which product they want specifically such Macs or iPhones. What I hope the most from this product is that it creates an ease of use for the user as it will be simple enough to find what product they are looking for while also having a search feature that will allow the users to easily find what they want.Predominantly, the biggest challenge is winning the metaphorically arms race that is getting to the information first and reporting on the news. This problem is based on the consumer base and currently the leader in this department is Twitter as many celebrity post status updates or pseudo-blog posts about updates. Many developers and companies use Twitter to communicate with fans and the community. What I would have to do to potentially surpass the current Twitter monarchy would be a way to provide incentives for the publishers and companies to openly communicate with users. This would give my site the one up on Twitter as many comments go unheard as companies post an update then ignore the topic unless they are absolutely forced to. But these are big future plans for right now I should be forcing on making a non-profit site that works towards en massing a sphere of influence. From there I would need to then gain sponsors and have sponsored users which will soon be the bulk of our profits. To get the site up and running I will need to start on the small scale such as only being hosted to the students here at the University of Florida then have it run by primary by volunteers. In short the best road to success is by first connecting the average user to their technology then connecting the user their products as they will be able to discuss and talk to with major corporation rather than faceless announcement bots.

Part 3: Revelations

Arc 3: What I’ve learned

In these last couple of weeks I’ve encounter several epiphany that lead to many changes in my initial plan as these past couple really made me think about my end game. Like Thanos, I need to think about this venture will cost me and at what point should cut tail and purse other projects. While also considering the extremes such as opening my market to a different audience or changing the objective entirely. What I’ve decided that would be best would make my venture into a platform that connects people with their businesses as well as to their products. I believe there is a lack of transparency between the modern user and their products and even bigger gap between big businesses and the people. I feel in creating a platform in which businesses are willingly post their current progress while creating a line of communication from the community to businesses so the people can voice their concerns and expectations. I feel this would be the best end game route as it is an untapped market with high possibility of growth as fill a ever growing gap that no one seems to want fixed. In terms of longevity I plan on staying with the company 5 years after I’ve achieved my initial goals as stated earlier the reasoning is because I want be like Elon Musk and pursue other ventures (mainly research) with the funds I acquire but I also want to ensure that when I do decide to leave the company that I find a worthy succor and that he will preserve the ideals of the company and maintain the platform as a bridge between the people and technology and companies.

27A – Reading Reflection No. 3

The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business is Selling Less of More, Chris Anderson

The idea behind this book is that era of commercial hit is a dead concept as the best businesses in the future will be those who supply to the niche community that servers for the niche community. The idea is based on the as trend that many current trends including education is making the small minority the largest percent. Where on a test 80% of the content will only be on 20% of the material. To me the 3 most important lessons from book is the idea that online markets are becoming the norm and the more niche markets are able to outperform oversaturated markets. Or if you can provide a range of niche things you can compete with even the best of sellers. The next lesson is that idea that in today’s society anyone can produce anything and that content is easier and easier to make so in order to compete you much make content that appeals to a smaller market. Finally, with the internet and the current state of society accessing products are the easiest it has ever been and because of this accessibility it makes profit margins ridiculous. I can agree to this claim as I am too am guilty of buying products because it made small company or farmer community. This book real made me rethink my venture a little bit as it wasn’t niche venture but it would help people connected people to big business and their technology. Which to me is could be considered a niche service as I will providing a service that is indeed offered by many but not mainstream enough to make a difference. Personally I feel this book over exaggerate some of its point as yes it is best time to produce and producing is easier more than ever but competing with many of the big names is becoming more and more impossible and the measure of success is harder to define. I feel the future people will want to be different but the idea of commercial hits being dead or the idea that niche will over take the norm is very unlikely. A fun assignment would be interview the community and find what niche item or niche product they purchase frequently and how they would react to business that sold all they products they normal elsewhere or in multiple stores.

28A – Your Exit Strategy

My exit strategy - my escape

When reviewing Allpoint and what type of business it is,I realize it does have a lot potential to be become to be next Facebook and with right conditions it could be lifetime project that I could use until I retire. But after reading “Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future, “ I realize that this venture isn’t what I want to spend the rest of my life working on similarly how Elon Musk created a program that would later be known as paypal which he sold to Ebay then pursued his dream of SpaceX. I feel that I would take a similar course of action as even though it seems like a interesting venture now 5 or so years from now I would probably sell the company and use the money I earn to further research and pursue other ventures.

The reason why I choose this specific strategy is because I feel that Allpoint is a very finite venture that will one day reach a its peak in terms of usefulness and it would probably be a better resource in the hands of a company which specializes in connecting people and businesses like Facebook.

The plan for my venture in the beginning seems relatively unchanged but it will seem to properly utilize my exit strategy I will need to focus harder on getting sponsors and investors.

26A – Celebrating Failure

This semester has been a fun one, while it has some of the best of times while also being the worst of times. Jokes aside there has been many fails this semester from start to finish but instead of making a 300 page blog post I’ll just state the most significant fail of 2019(so far). For me this fail would be when I wrote my blog(s) for this class and completely forgot to submit my assignments for the week and forgetting the cupcake the following Monday. It was the definition of a L weekend as I seemed I could do nothing right but in reality it presented to me a fatal flaw in how I do things It showed me that when I fail to plan I plan to fail. What I mean by this is that when you don’t write out a schedule or plan out your week you are very likely to make mistakes. From then on I learned by at least planning out your days you are very unlikely to make mistakes because you know what you need to do and what to expect. This class has taught me to embrace failure as every time I fail it opens up a new opportunity to learn and grow. The even the most successful of people fail a lot.

25A – What’s Next?

For this assignment, I wanted to test the radical bounds of my venture going from B2C I wanted to see how a site such as Allpoint would if it became a B2B business. What I mean is that I wanted to make a site that allowed businesses to discuss potential changes to their software and their products essential becoming a site where businesses would voice their true opinion which is available for the public to view and read. Personally, after some pondering a bit I viewed this idea unsustainable as already businesses have the ability to communicate with their clientele but unless communicated is absolutely necessary many companies wouldn’t bother wasting their time discussing their projects with the public until it becomes a problem or something is leaked. Regardless, I wanted to see what my interviewees felt about this. The second extreme I wanted to discuss in this series of interviews was the idea of making a professional tech site that is made for exclusive for those who are knowledgeable and have it be a platform that would he used a user work space where people could discuss projects and open source it to the community while also being able recruit professionals for projects and ventures.

Existing Market: A platform that would allow users to connect with their technology allowing them to discuss updates while also being informed of how community feels about features and/or updates.

New Market(s): A platform in which business could discuss with other businesses about their goals/projects which would be publicly available allowing people view goals and intentions of businesses/products.

A platform similar to Linkin and Openstax which will allow users work on projects and find talent while also discuss new updates and existing tech. A website made by professionals for professionals.

Reflection: After discussing all three concepts to my interviewees they seemed to all really like the idea of the last one project. This surprised me the most until they explained their reasoning which made sense to many people technology is the least of their worries so as long as they know the bare minimum to complete their work they will be content with themselves and find no value in site such as “Allpoint”. Where as a site such as my third suggestion many people would love another option to connect to other business/projects where they can apply their skills. This site can alternatively serve as way of granting internships to those who seem curious enough to explore the field. More research is needed but the process to making this transition may be not as difficult as it seems the transition to a open source work space may not be complicated as it seems.

23A – Your Venture’s Unfair Advantage

Financial capital - about $5 dollars.

In terms of financial capital currently, unless I get a loan my current funds are non-existent. Realistically, if I want this venture to take flight I would have to go non profit and have the server cost come out of pocket. Meaning until I am able to get ads rolling on the site and get some sponsorship going as well.

Human capital/social- Who can I call?

In terms of human capital, I have some experience with programming and website design which is predominant in developing. Beside that I do have variety of people on hand who are willing to help me pursue such a venture.

Most important virtue- What makes us stand out

What makes my project stand out is the idea that for a while we will be promoting free speech allowing users to communicate what they like/dislike about various tech related things while also teaching those who know nothing the knowledge they need to make informed decisions on their purchases. Idea is that this will be a welcoming platform that no one should feel intimidated in joining.

21A – Reading Reflection No. 2

How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big, Scott Adams

The main argument within this book is the idea that you don’t have be hugely success/talented in order to be successful at life. This book is a recollection of cartoonist Scott Adams, which he continuously loses and fails until the creation of the famous cartoon Dilbert. Adam’s approaches the book with a series of steps in which he feels can help guide the reader along his stream of conscious. I won’t go through all of them but some of my personal favorites. The first step he says is to do your creative work first. The idea is that you should put most of creative energy in the morning so when night comes around you are not burnt out by the trivial things in life. Another would be the idea that you should focus on yourself that being selfish is important for success as if don’t take time for yourself you’ll never be able purse your goals. Finally, humor as a resource to improve as you’ll be able to use it build connections and enjoy what you are creating. An assignment that I would create based on this book would be an assignment that would have students make something every morning. This could be a morning dairy to an art book that make additions to every morning for a week. Then the following week create something in the evening. Idea is to expose the students to the difference between the two and why it is so important to create in the morning ( or in the rare case create in the evening). The idea is that every student will find a creative method that works best for them. The biggest “aha” moment was the realization that in order to be successful you need to create and invest in yourself.

22A – Elevator Pitch No. 3

I feel this elevator pitch was much better than my previous one as my last pitch was a Frankenstein of a production as I tried to piece together a usage take. I tried to have a little bit more fun with my elevator pitch. One of the biggest improvements overall compared to my previous three attempts is the sound of my voice as I am more confident  in what I am selling and more comfortable being in front of a camera. Some feedback I received previously was the fact that I would stumble on my words and some of my  words would be mumbled/inaudible.  I really enjoyed this take as I was able to express myself the most and I had a lot of fun recording this.

20A – Growing Your Social Capital

Michael HoffmanMr.Hoffman is lead at IT services at the Ritz Union Student Affair domain expert,

the reason why I feel Mr.Hoffman is the perfect fit for my domain expert is that he has experience in both interface design and IT work.

Mr.Hoffman is actually my supervisor over at the Ritz Union student affair office.

I have no favors from them that I can exploit but I'm pretty sure he is willing to volunteer to help with my project.

His years of experience will come in handy when I first begin. As well as his knowledge of programming will be invaluable in creating a perfect site.

Tomer Zilberstein

1)The Founder of Tangency foundation ()

2)He has experience in creating his own non-profit and has plans in making it into a profitable organization. Making him the perfect candidate for a market expert.

3) Zilberstein has been a friend of mine for a year now and owns me many favors which would be crucial to the development of my project.

5)After developing his own non-profit I am more than confident that Zilberstein can help me understand what I should do to get the correct sponsor as well as attract people to my organization.

Google

Even though I don't know anyone at Google (yet). They would be my main supplier in terms of resources as they would supply the funds to market my project as well as allow my product to be found on the universally most used search engine.

19A – Idea Napkin No. 2

Hello, My name is Dervens Jean-Baptiste!

I am a second here at the University of Florida. I have over 2 years of experience in customer service and programming. I know both Java and C and I have some experience in Powershell.

I’ve spent a majority of my life around both technology and people, but I have always felt even though both are slowly becoming interchangeable; there is a disconnect in understanding from both parties. What I mean is I feel that the majority of people don’t understand things they use every day and those creating the technology don’t understand what the people want in their technology. I want to work towards bridging that gap.

What I am offering today is a simple domain which will help connect both people to through technology. I want to create a website that allows users and businesses to discuss features and specifications on a variety of products. The idea is to create a site that not only informs the people on their tech but allows for an open forum to discuss what they want from future installments as well as what they want changed/removed.

The reason why you should care is that as technology is becoming more and more demanded in daily life, I feel it soon be a universal requirement for all people. What sets me apart from the competition is that idea that I’ve spent years working with those who need technology yet don’t understand it the slightest bit. From Cricket wireless to Best Buy. I’ve met all types of people who all have the same problem that can be easily fixed.

Elevator Pitch Practice! (Part 2!)

The main thing I learned from my previous elevator pitch was to be more confident in the presentation of my idea as the last one had so many failed takes due to lack of confidence in what I was presenting thus causing me to stutter and misspeak. This time I took a different approach to my elevator pitch by adding some humor as well as editing it to make it look nicer.
Personally, I feel the most important thing to do in elevator pitch is to not only engage with the audience(target audience) but to present your idea in a manner that is easy to understand as well as engaging/excited about your product.

18A – Create a Customer Avatar

Customer Name: Timmy Nguyen

Age: 20

Timmy is your average UF student who spends most of the time playing online video games such as league of legends. Timmy here aspires to a computer science major so that one day he may make his own video games.

Social events scare him yet he enjoys spending time with his friends. When deciding on what to do on a Friday night he much rather his nights spent indoors playing league with his friends rather than going out. Which is ironic as he owns a car. The car isn't in the best condition but it works(the speedometer is broken and he doesn’t plan on fixing it any time soon). He much rather performs DIY solutions than getting help.

He tries to spend as much time indoors as possible even though he has a car. He prefers online courses as he can work on assignments at his own pace.

Honestly, a customer such as Timmy seems rather rare but he is millions of young adults looking for their place in the world. They see the age of information and computers the golden age of humanity but don't allow themselves to seize the opportunity. I’ve meant many Timmys in my life and I plan to meet many more. The reason Timmy is my customer avatar because a Timmy is someone who is willing to put the time and effort into something they love and many of them are in love with computers and technology.

16A –What’s Your Secret Sauce?

Know Thyself

Human Capital is the skills, knowledge, and experience possessed by an individual or population, viewed in terms of their value or cost to the country.

Personally, my human capital derives mainly from both my physical and mental status. As I am relatively fit and more capable of lifting than the average American while having above intelligence since I am a student at the University of Florida.

My experience can be added to my human capital as I have over 300 hours of community service, Over a year of customer service in both my jobs at both Cricket Wireless and Best Buy.

After conducting my series of interviews I uncovered a new opinion of myself. The biggest difference was that many people accessed my human capital based on my personality. As many described my human on dependability, loyalty, and my hard work/dedication.

15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

After my interviewing three different people and discussing their purchasing trends I have uncovered both what I expected while also learning about something I didn’t think about previously. What I mean by this is that when discussing how they would purchase a majority of their product the common answer would be online with the occasional purchase from their local stores. But what I found surprising is the idea of convenience as people are willing to spend an absurd upcharge on common products just because it is closer to them. I witness this phenomenon before in the time at the POD market but never realized the power of this until I conducted my interviews.

When asked How/Where they purchase their goods? The common answer was online as the internet is quickly becoming a universal shop as now even groceries can be purchased online and be delivered to your door almost instantly. The internet is a behemoth of a retailer as one interviewer admitted they don’t even go out to their goods but rather have it sent to the door. It is the idea of convenience that attracts them the most like the idea of not having to leave their home to get the things they want is the most attractive option even if it would be cheaper to just go the store which is less than a mile or two away. It is the idea that one interview admitted they were willing to pay more for McDonald’s through Ubereats even though the closest McDonald’s was less than a mile away. This brings me to what surprised me the most when an interviewee told me how much they enjoyed purchasing snacks from the POD market which was downstairs from their building. For those who don’t know POD market is a University of Florida exclusive convenience store which is open almost 24 hours a day. The only problem with the POD is all the goods in the POD are overpriced as everything in the shop is at least 10% more than what it would be if they were to go to any other store. The reason why that this surprised me the most was that even though I know the power of convenience as people are willing to use Ubereats to order a 5$ meal from McDonald’s but the idea that someone is willing to 5$ for a 2$ bag of chips that is available anywhere really made me think. When I asked how they would make these purchase it was almost unanimous that if they could they would pay with a card they would as it was explained to me “card money isn’t real money”. What they meant by this is that cash can be used in a lot more places than a card. The idea the money on the card is not as universal as cash some places don’t accept some cards or any card at all.

The most important thing for a customer is convenience.

14A – Halfway Reflection

Honestly, I have learned a lot more about myself in this class than I would have expected. Through the 100s of interviews and constant revamping/ reconstructing of business ventures, I have learned a lot about myself in this class. Personally, I feel the behavior that is a requirement for this class is confidence as yes gumption and determination can help you get your assignments done but confidence is what gives you the strength to not only think of an outlandish idea but to flaunt it as well. In this course we use confidence to present our big ideas in blog posts and discuss it with fellow classmates on why it is such a good idea and what we should do to make it even better. Honestly every blog post was a struggle but what kept me going was more specifically a time were I had to be tenacious and overcome my “give up attitude” was when we were doing the elevator pitches as both me a roommate dreaded the activity to the point where we thought it would never get done but once we got started and believing in each other we quickly saw how viable our ideas were and the 90 sec time frame quickly became too short of a window to contain all of our ideas.

Three tip(s):

Don’t worry about due date(s), just know that if you believe in yourself and work little by little every day the assignment will get done.

Tenacity is all about discipline and if you lack discipline you lack tenacity.

The best way to develop more “tenacity” is to discipline yourself. I personally do this by working out and studying :).

13A – Reading Reflection No. 1

The “biographies/autobiographies” that I choose was Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future, Ashlee Vance. The reason why I choose this book was due to my recent interest in Elon Musk as a person as he seemed to be not only done to Earth yet very outlandish at times. It seems as though (mostly recently ) he is self-aware of the image he has amassed on the internet which is ironic as less than a decade ago I feel no Elon Musk had no real internet presence whatsoever. One the thing that I learned that I liked the most about Musk was that from an early age he was always on the prowl for the next big idea. He knew early on that human needed to do two things to alleviate our dependence on oil/fossil fuels and for humans to travel the cosmos. The big idea behind it was that oil and fossil fuels are finite and once we discover an energy source that can produce the same energy whilst also being renewable would make human future proof. While also seeing the stars a destination rather than an observation. Another thing I can relate with Musk was from an early age we both expressed our entrepreneurial tendencies as when I was younger I would sell candy. When Elon Musk was a lad he made a video game and sold it 500$ even though both ventures are vastly different it proves that he and I share similar qualities. What least admire about Musk is his attitude the opening pages of the book starts with Musk seemed both controlling yet interested in the creation of his biography as he only agreed to it when he was strong-armed by the author. Elon faced many challenges on his journey to become a billionaire as when he was in college he released zip2 to which he would sell for a profit of 22 million. The use that same money to create x.com which would later be known as PayPal and sell that to eBay for billions. At this point, Elon could have stopped a retired yet he ventured on to achieve his goal of space travel and took the biggest risk of his lifetime SpaceX. One thing that confused me wasn’t really a critic but rather the idea that Musk wanted to continue pursuing his space dream after becoming a billionaire which has to do in part with his heavily motivated character and determined attitude but personally I would have stopped after I had made a billion dollars. One question I would Elon Musk was what kept him motivated on days that he felt uninspired and unwilling during the days that he felt that he should give up. Because we know what he thought about in college that motivated but what motivated him as a billionaire. “What important issues will affect the future of humanity?”

12A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

Sex - both?

Age - 15 -40

Income - lower to middle class

Ethnic - any ethnic groups

Awareness / Information search: One thing I discovered in my interviews is that many people really like the idea of having a universal site for hotfixes. It's the idea of the convenience of being able to look up any problem encountered. As stated before it seems that many people first step in technical help is going straight to google and typing their problem. I what I need to do is make a one-stop shop for this problem.

The results from the interview are the same as before when discussing how they use technology in their everyday life the interviewer almost always the start off confident in their knowledge in how they effectively utilize the tech in their life but when being prodded for questions the holes in their understating become present. The biggest thing discovered in this series of interviews is that now I know where the site needs to focus on in order to achieve success as now it has become evident many people desire a resource they can use to search for quick help and solution to their problems.

11A – Idea Napkin No. 1

Hello, my name is Dervens Jean-Baptiste. I am a Sophomore at the University of Florida. For the past 3 three years, I have been studying computer science learning both Java and C.

Today, I am offering a solution to all of your technical problems. I want to build a website that will help the common man connect with professionals all over the world and help teach them the ins and outs of their household technologies that they use every day. The problem I see in today’s society is the idea that with technology becoming a crucial part of our society yet so many people lack the proper knowledge of how to use their “technologies” to its fullest potential. I want to create a social media/news outlet/forum that is accessible to everyone. For years I have seen all these resources on platforms that are all independent of each other but what I want to do is combine all of them onto one platform. This site would be a great resource in educating the average user as well as a place for many companies to see what features customers enjoy and what features they can live without. Similar to how Twitter connects users to their favorite celebrities, I want to make a platform that connects users to technologies and express how they feel about features whilst also using them.

I feel the biggest problems this idea faces is competing with other social media outlets as it only appeals to those who want to learn about tech which surprisingly niches.

9A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

After conducting my wave 3 of interviews have successfully able to divide the general user base into 2 categories for those Who/Who’s not, What/What is not, Needs/what is it not need.
Who
What
Needs
Those who wish to learn and socialize about technology.
Easy to access, something even a toddler can use.
A way for users to connect with each like they do on other social media platforms.
Friend request, incentives to log in, DMs.
This is great for those who wish to learn as well as discuss tech.
Those with no interest in technology.
To create a hive mind of those promoting one good over another a.k.a a biased resource.
What this platform doesn’t need is paid reviews/ bots/ anyone who is potentially using this platform to promote their goods or need.
What I’ve learned from wave 3 the most is that most people feel as though they will be intimidated by the presence of those who know more than them. It is the idea that the site will one day become very niche and newcomers will become intimate with the site-made diction. One way I was suggested to make this more pleasant for most users is the idea of making the interface to user-friendly that it's welcoming to newcomers. The problem lies in designing a site that is welcoming while also being technical enough to incite meaningful conversations. I have found that many social media site opts for more lighter themes are they seem more welcoming than darker themed sites, but many would agree that darker themed sites look better and many including myself have installed various dark themed modes for various of sites. Another suggestion I received was the fear of impending bot accounts and self -promoters. As there is no way (yet) to stop this from happening I would just need to vignette in stopping this before it happens as once the site gets a reputation for being unreliable it will be hard for it to come back. I’ve also heard that working with bigger sites is the best way to go but the validity of that statement has not yet been proven. It is true that working with big celebrities do in fact bring in their fanbase but it does provide retention unless it gets a stream constant promotion. This is another route I will have look into for the future.

8A – Solving The Problem

This will be a follow to the opportunity explored in my last blog post but essentially I will be creating a platform that will use to discuss/learn/purchase various things technology. The idea will be a combination of reddit/amazon/news outlet. The design is going to very unique in the sense that the home page will series links to trusted articles very similar to the site hacker news( https://news.ycombinator.com/) At the top having various categories of technology which will lead to the forum on that specific topic. Each topic page will be split into two sides with the first having a list of the current topics while the other side having current tech or advancements. The idea of the thread system is that they temportay as each topic will last only 24 hours (the time limit can be extended if it becomes very popular) the idea is that people won't be talking about the same thing over and over again. If the thread remains on topic then the thread will be achieved but if it its off topic or an advertisement it will be pruned. This will keep the site clean from non topic subjects. And if there is a term that the user doesn’t know or recognize they can search it up in the address bar at the top of the thread and the user will be taken to a user created wiki on the term. The idea is that the the page will be a wiki can constantly update the product page with also a section to leave reviews as well as similar topics on the same thread. The wiki page will also serve as a mini-forum as users can post frequently asked questions and expect replies as well as post fixes to common problems or open source community projects that fix problems not addressed by the developers ( or modding).. The second side to every topic page will be an advancement section where all the latest news about a certain topic will be posted( if it's programming it will contain advancements in various open source projects). This advancement page will also include paid reviews and news articles discussing the advances in the field so for a section such as headphones/phones there have threads on the latest phones as well being able to have insight on what the media has to say on the topic. This allow users to fact check what they view in the threads as well as comapre what main paid reviews think compared to what the average customer feels about the product. The site will be maintained by ads and donations as well as hopeful some outlets to whom wish to promote their product on the site. The site will have both paid and volunteer moderators as the paid ones are mainly there for maintenance while the volunteer is run by the community meaning that the paid ones are there t make sure there is no one breaking the rules and make sure the site is running efficiently while the volunteers will people of the community who can spot spammer or those notorious for causing a ruckus in threads and determining whether or not a thread needs to be achieved or not.

6A – Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

Economic changes: AMD Stock down/ potential Intel buyout/ AMD lawsuit
Apple falling sales due to the iPhone X series failure
Regulatory changes: Discord/Whatsapp substitute (telegram)
Epic Games/Discord/ Steam
https://www.zacks.com/stock/news/347304/advanced-micro-devices-amd-stock-moves-02-what-you-should-knowhttps://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/01/22/judge_green_lights_amd_core_lawsuit/

AMD has always been a dwindling company compared to their competitor Intel. In recent years AMD has made a bit of a comeback as their Ryzen processors have proven themselves as well as their graphics cards but with recent rumors began with the rumors of Intel purchasing AMD. Even though many economists denied such allegations as such a purchase would allow Intel to have a monopoly on the CPU industry (which would be illegal). Since these rumors started to spread AMD market shares went on the rise as the year to year growth is averaging 12.5% growth. But after the latest trading session (as of 1/14/19) AMD is down .2% from the prior and now I fear AMD stocks will go down farther as now AMD is facing US class-action lawsuit over their advertisement. According to their advertisement, the AMD’s “eight-core” processors may not be the eight-cores many consumers were expecting as their eight-core processors contain four Bulldozer modules. Meaning that these “sub-processors” contain a pair of instruction-executing CPU cores, so these four modules have 2 cores in the module. The problem is that because of the structure of the modules leads to shared resources cause bottlenecking of the processor. The lawsuit started back in 2015 but now the agreement has shifted to the definition of what constitutes a core. Now AMD is at a crossroads as they can lose the case but can label their cores however they want or they can let a jury of 12 to decide. Regardless of the verdict of the case, regardless of their recent, market shares, it seems AMD isn’t satisfying the market and there may be opening in the market. Right now there only two big companies in the CPU and GPU, but with Intel and AMD underperforming, I can see potential in investing in my own company. Such an opportunity would be very difficult to seize such an opportunity because it would require years building customer relations while also inventing new CPU and GPU technology.
What helped me realize this opportunity was because I have been needing to build a new PC for a while and February is the time to buy based the current stock trends.

https://www.extremetech.com/mobile/282997-apple-may-have-a-major-iphone-sales-problemhttps://boingboing.net/2018/12/28/new-ipad-pros-are-coming-out-o.htmlhttps://www.zdnet.com/article/apple-macbook-pro-owners-cry-foul-6-problem-costs-600-to-fix/

The next opportunity would be creating a service where people can access other phones on the market that normally don’t sell in the US. This idea stemmed from the recent news of Apple products failing to live up to consumer expectations as apple stocks have fallen significantly with reports that this year’s revenue to be less than it was last year. This problem arose from the poor sales of all the iPhone x series phone with even the “budget” iPhone Xr failing to meet sale goals. This also compounded with news of latest Ipad shipping defective with the Ipad suffering with poor durability. All these problems seem to be slowly killing Apple as people are beginning to realize that the price to functionality is no longer correlating. Even though the idea of opening up my own phone manufacturer is an option but it is very difficult to start up but a rather more reasonable option is to act as a shipping service to ship many Chinese exclusive phones to the US. The benefits of many of the Chinese phones are that they usually have the quality of many 500$+ phones for the price of 300$ USD. This still would be a challenge to set up as we would need to contact many manufacturers and find out why they don’t want to ship to the US. The reason I was able to see this opportunity because for years I have worked at the various phone store and first hand noticed the downfall of Apple products as well as seen customer interest of other devices that rarely come to the US. This began when a customer asked if we carried Huawei phones which bewildered me because I had never heard of that brand which leads me to do my research which surprised me as there are hundreds of various other brands that are over 10x the quality, but significantly better price.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wire_(software)https://www.reddit.com/r/discordapp/comments/741dz9/is_discord_end_to_end_encrypted/

Next opportunity I uncovered was the recent need for encrypted messaging services as Telegram failed as a whats app replacement and discord as a messaging application failed to have encrypted messages making the platform rather insecure. The main problem with the age of the internet is that data security is more valuable than ever as information collection is becoming more common as Alexa and other google assistants have been notorious in collecting user data and uploading them to their servers. The opportunity I see is a market for an encrypted service such as mumble to allow users to message other users without fear of their information getting leaked. The marketplace for this product would be anyone who uses WhatsApp but wants a more secure network in messaging family and friends as well as a way to make calls. The importance of encryption varies for many people even though many people don’t need it during their everyday use( unless they are doing something illegal), but many would prefer that their data wasn't been sent to advertisers or worst yet had the potential of being leaked. The reason I came across such an idea is in light of my recent disdain for discord as a program and the idea that it has no protection for user messages makes matters worse yet it seems discord is only getting more popular and many encrypted/secure messaging are going under.

http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/01/what-fortnite-means-for-the-epic-games-store.htmlhttps://www.tweaktown.com/news/64603/devs-steam-30-cuts/index.htmlhttps://www.thisisinsider.com/epic-games-vs-steam-discord-microsoft-xbox-game-pass-2018-12

The final opportunity that I uncovered was the regulatory change is the sudden shift for many platforms into becoming a video game launcher/store. This trend was witnessed with platforms such as epic games and discord making the switch to being a video game retailer which is making the market oversaturated with launchers and resources to purchase games it is hurting the industry as a whole. The reason why this is becoming a problem is the annoyance of having to open a separate software in order to open another game then having to open another to play a different game. This compounded with the idea that most launchers have an online verification system that runs in the background of your computer and if your computer doesn’t have enough RAM ( unless you download more :) ) you are going to run into issues playing your favorite game. Now there are currently three main video game launchers and more on the horizon yet the solution I have in mind seems rather counterproductive as I want to create another “universal “ launcher that makes it easier to access all your games in one place. Even though this may compound the situation, even more, if I am able to get in contact and set up deals with both companies this could overly beneficial to all parties. I came across this idea when news broke that epic games not only opened their own market but wanted to give developers a larger cut and “customer protection”.

5A – Identifying Local Opportunities

County struggling to meet new law - State advisory group would penalize school districts over security

https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3AORLB%21Orlando%2BSentinel%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2019%212019/mody%3A0114%21January%2B14&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/170F192510EDE878

In light of recent school massacres many schools around the country have been implementing many of preventive measures to prevent another massacre from occurring of these proventive many states (such as Florida) are mandating so that all schools must have an on-campus deputy or private security personal at all times. This law was established Feb. 14 of the previous year in wake of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. This would be good news if it wasn’t for struggles happening in Orange County Sheriff’s Office as they struggle in supplying full-time deputies to all the schools in the county and may be facing penalties for failing to comply. According to the article they’ve been struggling since the start of the school semester, but since then they’ve hired 50 more officers yet still need 21 more to provide full time protection to all campuses. While it is still unclear whether or not the county needs to provide for charter schools as they are privately owned, currently every high school has two on-duty officers, each middle school has one officers yet a majority of elementary schools struggle to have a single officer available all day. This has lead to much debate as many complain it is unreasonable and that there is nowhere in the law that states that an officer has to be on campus from first bell to dismissal, but allowing officers to “float” between campuses is not what the law was intended for. Now it has become a battle of funding as either funding is spent on schools or providing new officers, while Broward county is attempting to fundraise for the short funds.

While intentions are good this has quickly become a war on funding as schools struggle enough as is providing the bare necessities for their students. Those who are affected the most by this problem are also those who need this the most. What I mean is that if the law becomes stricter the less funding goes to teachers and education defeating the purpose of school but if it is the other way around in case of a crisis the school will lack the proper protection against an armed attacker.

Malls are fading, making way for new entertainment

https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3AORLB%21Orlando%2BSentinel%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2019%212019/mody%3A0121%21January%2B21&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/171169386BD6E298

In the age where online shopping is all the rave, many outlets are struggling to compete as mall are becoming more and more obsolete. Interesting this is not all bad as these outlets are not onlying being replaced with onsite online retailers but many dining plazas. As districts such as Disney Springs have opted in building stores that don’t rely solely on retail. This trend is also seen in many grocery stores as many no longer just sell fresh foods but also provide a variety of options for to-go meals and many even have full fledged restaurants. The new trend many retailers are now aiming for is place for customers to be entertained while they spend as the new Margaritaville may be the largest new project in florida in 2019, as it plans to be 300 arc plaza with nearly 900 homes, with several shoppings and restaurants options. This came at a hefty cost as many outlets are closing their doors including the popular retailer Sears as they face another bankruptcy this year and plan on closing more of its doors. Ironically enough these foreclosures aren't making it easier for the competition as the new open spaces are quickly being occupied by Amazon locations, making online shopping even easier. Many mall developers are opting to use their unoccupied space to various types of new tenants ranging from healthcare facilities to call centers. Researchers are estimating that this will be the new face to the diminishing mall industry. “You probably won’t recognize malls in 10 or 15 years … Malls are great properties in great locations but they will have to find a way to adapt.”

The main victims of this article is the retail/mall industry as they now not only competing with the online market but other retailers that opted to include an element of entertain to their business.

Illegal immigration features some ironies

https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3AORLB%21Orlando%2BSentinel%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2019%212019/mody%3A0114%21January%2B14&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/170F19256117C188

This articles the contradictory nature that is illegal immigration as it doesn’t make sense why people would flee their homeland to nation that is seemly inhospitable and unwelcoming to foreigners. The article begins with a poll as over a third of Mexican citizens would want to emigrate to the US, but the article quickly diminishes this claim by stating why would residences of a naturally rich country (“19th globally in oil reserves and currently 12th largest oil provider”) would want to leave. Then the article mentions how Mexico is in the lower half of the population density and how much revenue there is in the tourist industry in Mexico. The answer to this why so many Mexicans want to leave Mexico is the idea that Life in Mexico is relatively poor as Mexico lacks many of the rights that many American use liberally. The author believes the best way to assist Mexico with their emigration problem is by helping become more progressive by giving their residence equality.

SpaceX announces layoffs - About 10 percent of employees cut 'due to the extraordinarily difficult challenges ahead'

https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3AORLB%21Orlando%2BSentinel%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2019%212019/mody%3A0112%21January%2B12&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/170E728B55BA64A8

Popular space program SpaceX lays off over 6000 employees. Many of the company heads have come forth and stated that “ To continue delivering to our customers and succeeding in developing an interplanetary spacecraft… SpaceX must become a leaner company.”

The people who are suffering this problem in the article are those who are being laid off the SpaceX program as even though the article repeated over and over again that the leaders at SpaceX are grateful for the contributions of everyone they had laid off made. But the article also mentions how other space programs have been letting go senior members and this downward thread seems to counterproductive in terms of space travel as yes on one hand it leaves more funds for building space crafts, but it also limits what the team can do and less people on deck to prevent errors or other miscalculations.

Short staffs and long lines at U.S. airports

In Atlanta, preflight traffic was at its worst Monday, 1/14, as many reported delays to have lasted over hours. The article attributes this massive delay to an unprecedented 7.6% absence rate this was in part due to the government shut down as many sympathized with the TSA workers as they agreed they too would have went on looking for new work if their current employment didn’t pay. According to many TSA members the wait times reported by many customers do not accurately reflect the actual wait times as the Sunday prior over 99% of all customers experienced wait times less than 30 minutes and over 93% experienced less than 15 minute wait times.

The problem here stems from the idea that TSA traffic is being affected by the government shut down as less TSA members are willing to show up to work as they are government officials are currently looking elsewhere for work.

4A – Forming An Opportunity Belief

A common issue I witness that goes continuously unaddressed is the idea that technology is “scary”. What I mean by this the common idea that even in the generation where technology has become universal commonplace in everyday life; not too many people understand why things work they way they do and lack the proper understanding in making purchases that properly suit their needs. I mentioned this briefly in my previous blog post, where technology is changing so rapidly that many people don't know the difference between their options to the point in which the average consumer is being taken advantage of. Even though there are over thousands of resources that can assist people in making such purchases many people either don’t know about them or they’ve visited them before but got intimidated by the jargon many of the community members have adopted. My goal is to make a three-part tech forum, with the three parts being part social media, part news outlet, and part wiki page. The idea is to create a place where people can talk about the tech that interests them while also hosting links to the products( ie where to purchase it, or in-depth look at the components) and ability to research a certain feature and a way to compare features (with both comment based reviews and unbiased reviews). The structure will be similar to Reddit where users can make threads about the products they are using or comment about current tech news but without the “upvote” system. This way users can express their honest opinions about something and don't feel pressured to parakeet popular opinions. While also allowing users to search the meaning of various terms they may come across. How this will work is that for every piece of tech there will be a tag associated with it allowing users to search a certain product and the search results will include news articles about said product, user-created threads about the product and a list of features with both articles and threads on the features in question. The target demographic would both the informed and the uninformed. To gauge interest for such a site I interviewed various people with various understanding and asked both direct and indirect questions to full gauge their understanding. For the direct questions I asked the interviewed person how much they feel they understand about technology, where do they go when something stops working and where do they go before they make a tech purchase. Then for the indirect question, I would ask them questions about their phones and how much they know about their phones; asking questions like what type of phone do they use, what do they use their phone for, what features do they use their phone for, what carrier do they use and what is included in their current plan, and if they know the features of other phones on the market. When interviewing my prototypical consumers, of the 3 people I had interviewed 2 of them had an android based product( S9+ and “Moto”) devices and the other had an iPhone (iPhone 6 plus). Note these interviews are not a representation of consumer base of said products, with that being said for the rest of the blog the interviewers will be differentiated by their phone of choice to protect their identity. When asked how much they know about technology as a whole on a scale of 10, the S9+ user rated themselves as an 8/10 as they felt comfortable with most things tech-based but becomes unsure of things when objects got technical such in-depth description of various hardware aspects. The next being the “Moto” user whereas they rated themselves as 6/10, to which they explained they keep up with the news of various tech updates and keeps up with the stock of tech companies but when it comes to operating such products they become bewildered without the assistance of a manual or the internet. Finally was the iPhone 6 plus user to whom felt rather uncomfortable around new technology and rated themselves as a 3/10 and felt they could only use technology with the assistance of others. As expected all participants universally explained how the internet was essential to their understanding as they all admitted to using google searches to uncover the information on technology and admitted that their research would be limited to the first page of google and a couple user views. When asked if they knew the name of the site they used they all responded with “ whatever, Google had presented to them” and when asked if they had visited sites like “Tom’s hardware” the response was unanimous with a “probably”. The responses were the same when it came to their process of buying tech as they said most of their information on the product would be based both the purchase site and “Google”. When asked what phone each person used frequently they all had smartphones and knew generally what their device was capable of expect for the Moto user to whom didn’t know what exactly what model phone they had but explained they only used their phone for calls and text. For the S9+ and iPhone 6 plus users why both explained that call/text was important but preferred a phone great playback quality and video quality. When asked about their service both the Moto and iPhone user where on prepaid plans with about 6~8 GBS of high-speed data and had felt comfortable with their phone carrier because it was affordable and they were able to cancel at any time. Finally, when asked about the other phones on the market they gave the same response as they did before when asked how they did do research when it comes to tech products as they knew vaguely about the other popular products on the market and most of their information came from Google. When asked about the popular phone brands overseas (ie OnePlus, Poco, and Xiaomi) they answered homologously, with no knowledge of what made these phones desirable overseas and what made many popular American phones undesirable. Now after completing the interview process, I still feel my service is a necessity as even though I had interviewed only 3 people I feel the general consensus we get most of our tech information from Google which is a search engine and lacked the knowledge of trusted sites or reviewers to whom they could gather their information from. I am not saying Google is a bad resource to find information but it limits the knowledge of the user. In this day and age, people should have a greater understanding of what is in their hands and what it is capable of and what their options are. With this site, I want to a universal platform to where users can find both trusted articles and reviews while also being able to vocalize their own point of view and perspective on the current state of technology.

3A – Your Entrepreneurship Story

My Entrepreneurship Story

What drives me towards entrepreneurship as a course of study is the idea that entrepreneurship is the key to motivation as in order for you to be considered an entrepreneur you need action/commitment. To be an entrepreneur you need to have a goal in mind with a problem and solution that you can accomplish. In order to reach these goals, you must take the necessary steps in order to reach each step and eventually helps you achieve your goal; which in turns to motives you into creating a new goal.

Even though my experience as an entrepreneur is limited, the closest thing I have in terms of starting my own business was back in high school when I sold candy to fundraise money for my many wrestling camps. Even though this sounds fairly basic and even trivial, in order to make this profitable, I had to do a lot of planning. This planning included restocking/inventory management, tracking sales, and responding to the demands of the consumer base. I had to do these things on the daily as if I didn’t I would underprepared for the next day and most times meant I would sell out before the end of the day, losing out on many potential sales. Sales were essential in terms of maximizing profits as a buy one get one would save me anyone from 10$ to over 100$. I also had to mindful of competition and had to arm myself with the goods they could not provide. Even though I kept my prices along the universal school standard of 1$, by keeping my prices consistent I was able to obtain regular customers while as being able to undersell many competitors as they eventually rose their prices to 1.25$ and the inevitable 1.50$ price rise. Within 6 months of selling candy, I was to accumulate over 1000$ of revenue.

Another example of my of entrepreneurial experience would be soap drive I conducted my senior of high school to which was a fundraising event to bring soap to children in need. Even though this originally wasn’t my idea I quickly became one the main organizer for the project. As I had to manage the other group members and helped design incentives to encourage both the student body to participant in the event.

The main reason why I chose to take ENT3003: Principles of Entrepreneurship was further improve my entrepreneurial skills. Even though I don’t plan on opening my own business I personally feel having these type of skills on the ready will prepare for anything life has to throw at me.

2A – Bug List

You know what really grinds my gears
>Blog post 1
>Bugs list
In our everyday life, we come across hundreds, if not thousands of “bugs” that plague our society from minor inconveniences to major delay-inducing annoyments. These “bugs” reside in the very fabric our society, yet many require very simple solutions. These simple solutions are being we, entrepreneur strives as it is our duty to find and eliminate these bugs. In my everyday life, I witness many things to which I feel to be changed and here are just a few.
Public transportation in major cities is good but in towns, the bus service is terrible As someone who was born and raised in suburban Kissimmee, FL the bus systems are notoriously bad. Even on days with little to no traffic, the bus would still arrive anywhere from 30 to hour late.
Why do wireless products degrade faster than most cable-based products Personally, I listen to music everywhere I go and I will agree that Bluetooth is very convenient to carry around as you don’t have to worry about the cables getting caught or tangled.
Why inside various supermarkets or building (ie Best Buys) is mobile data so inconsistent. While working at BestBuy, a very frequent problem was the inability to access the internet while inside the store. This made the job unnecessarily harder as customers would try to explain what they were looking for without having either the name or image of the item they would looking for. Why do whole foods cost more than a week's worth of fast food This is fairly straightforward as its hard to promote a healthy living style when 20 Mcchickens cost the same a week’s worth of groceries (or less).
Why do supermarkets/restaurants/stores in university areas have either terrible service but a good price or terrible prices and offer the same food I’ve noticed this recently when I went shopping for food as both the prices and deals of many products in the Publix store where being sold at a high price than the products being sold at the same store about 2~3 miles away.
Why doesn’t the Publix down 13th street honor any of the deals offered by other Publix’s even though there is another one a couple miles away that does.
How can we circumvent the issue that plagues the android os without resorting to custom firmware The Android software suffers many of the same problems as any another piece of software but the biggest problem I have with Android and why I think so many people like Apple products is that each phone has a different version of the same software. This means every type of android from Lg to Samsung have their own version of the Android software, but what makes the problem worse is that every carrier has their own version of android for that phone. Maling troubleshooting problems for many Android devices more problematic as a fix for a T-mobile device may not be the same fix for a Sprint device even though it is the same phone. This also makes getting updates harder as each update has to go manufactures first then the update is made for their devices which then pushed to the service providers, to whom have to make their own version of the same update to be released to their customers. This can cause delays up to 6 months of when the update was initially made and by the time the update has become available a new update is probably already finished.
Is there a way to make a wireless connection just as good as good as wired
A way to make over the ear headphones without messing up your hair. This is another personal grip as I love to listen to music on the go but hate having a depression in my hair when I take off my headphones.
How do combat the current wave of diminishing features on smartphone/mobile devices I'm just annoyed by the fact that every year new phones are being sold with less and fewer features yet being sold for 1,000 +. How we can prevent the lethargic process of introducing universal updates to open source projects.
Way to consistently prevent unwanted objects from entering the washing machine/adding a way to preserve or restore objects that enter the washing system. I'm just tired of losing pens to the washing machine :(
The creation of a universal charging adaptor/ The lack of product capable to convert to various charger types to other charger types. This problem has been somewhat circumvented with the introduction of wireless charging, but it is still annoying to go to a friends house and they do not have a compatible charger.
Why is it that people commit to new year resolutions for only a week then abandon the who project a month later.
Ways to increase cybersecurity without self-hosting. Emails and personal information getting leaked more and more frequently and with the shut up of various user hosted sites having a private email is becoming more and harder.
Making ads less intrusive or creating a way for ads to be blocked whilst also being able to generate revenue for the viewing site. I use Adblock. I want to keep using Adblock. I also don’t want many of the sites I visit to get shut down because I don’t like ads.
Why isn't there a site the easily translate technological lingo into something that most people could understand; which can be used in assisting the average population in making technological purposes. How we make the write speed of a hard drive the same as one of an SSD/or making SSD’s available in much larger sizes without it costing an insane markup. Why can Hard Drives go all the way up 17 GBS for 500$ but SSD’s could barely reach over 2tb and cost thousands of dollars
How can we create a VR system with inducing motion sickness Making portable charging more realistic/ making battery life longer/more reliable This creation of list comes from any aspects from both my daily routine to problems faced when pursuing my hobbies/research.

The biggest bugs I face in my are heavily based on the inconveniences of many technologies brings as it seems in this modern age of constant updates and new releases many developers are not taking the time to ensure the best possible product to the point in which features are being removed from many devices in the name of “innovation”. Whereas the developers who do try to make the best quality product cannot compete with the fast pace market making it undesirable to pursue such strategies. Worst of all are community based software as they meant for to be made by the community and for the community yet when it comes to basic security updates or bug fixes updates seem to be rather inconsistent as some have same day resolutions while others require many months of workarounds/bypasses/hotfixes until the problem is “eventually” fixed.
