26A – Celebrating Failure

This semester has been a fun one, while it has some of the best of times while also being the worst of times. Jokes aside there has been many fails this semester from start to finish but instead of making a 300 page blog post I’ll just state the most significant fail of 2019(so far). For me this fail would be when I wrote my blog(s) for this class and completely forgot to submit my assignments for the week and forgetting the cupcake the following Monday. It was the definition of a L weekend as I seemed I could do nothing right but in reality it presented to me a fatal flaw in how I do things It showed me that when I fail to plan I plan to fail. What I mean by this is that when you don’t write out a schedule or plan out your week you are very likely to make mistakes. From then on I learned by at least planning out your days you are very unlikely to make mistakes because you know what you need to do and what to expect. This class has taught me to embrace failure as every time I fail it opens up a new opportunity to learn and grow. The even the most successful of people fail a lot.

  1. Oh yeah I've been there. There are so many assignments that it is very easy to either forget one or do a portion of it wrong, such as not submit the url. Happened to me I think. Embracing failure is a good way to look at it-not to be content with failure but to realize that it is an opportunity to learn and grow and be prepared for the next time. Have a great summer!

  2. Hey Nadeem, first off I really enjoyed reading your story (it read like a book). Just like you, this semester I had a lot of fails and hardships but I enjoyed reading how you took your version of a similar path that I took to get through the fails that we went through this semester.

  3. I appreciated reading your honest post about your failures this semester. I definitely didn’t put my best foot forward (most of the time) and I often missed assignments and cupcakes altogether. The fact that you learned from these mistakes and applied the lessons to get to success in the future is admirable. Learning to create a schedule and, more importantly, written goals will hugely increase your chances of success going forward!

  4. Cool post Nadeem, i cannot tell you just how many times i forget to hit that submit button. It drives me crazy. Honestly though, it has made me realise now, at this stage, to not forget in the future. Not only for this course, but my other courses which i take too much of a relaxed stance on. I'm so much better at keeping on top of things (my organisational skills) these days and hopefully this is something that'll stick
