23A – Your Venture’s Unfair Advantage
Financial capital - about $5 dollars.
In terms of financial capital currently, unless I get a loan my current funds are non-existent. Realistically, if I want this venture to take flight I would have to go non profit and have the server cost come out of pocket. Meaning until I am able to get ads rolling on the site and get some sponsorship going as well.
Human capital/social- Who can I call?
In terms of human capital, I have some experience with programming and website design which is predominant in developing. Beside that I do have variety of people on hand who are willing to help me pursue such a venture.
Most important virtue- What makes us stand out
What makes my project stand out is the idea that for a while we will be promoting free speech allowing users to communicate what they like/dislike about various tech related things while also teaching those who know nothing the knowledge they need to make informed decisions on their purchases. Idea is that this will be a welcoming platform that no one should feel intimidated in joining.

A commitment to free speech is awesome. It's interesting to see how companies' policies regarding free speech change as they scale up and have to adopt new policies to keep up with the larger user base. It's a tricky situation and I wish you the best in navigating these waters in the future.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed reading about the progression of your venture development. I think that with your passion for the project, you could hold successful fundraising campaigns to help raise capital. Especially since you are considering having paid reviews/content in addition to free reviews, you could recruit tech start-ups or even more established companies to sponsor content on your site, which would provide funds for further developing the forum. Of course you would still have to find a way to get the server up and running, but I believe that you will be able to network with the right people to make this a realty.
ReplyDeleteNadeem,
ReplyDeleteThank you for breaking up your post, that way it was easier to follow along format-wise. I would note in your last paragraph "Most important virtue- what makes us standout" I would be sure make it more clear next time. The goal of this paragraph is to convince the reader and your potential customers why your product is different. I feel like the language used was too fluffy and therefore distracted from the product's unique qualities.
